Bentley Motors Limited is a British company that makes luxury saloons and Grand Tourers that are bespoke, and despite being owned by Volkswagen AG, Bentley cars are still assembled by hand at the Crewe factory in England, United Kingdom. In 1931, Rolls-Royce bought Bentley following a courtroom battle with rival bidder Napier, then Rolls-Royce was then sold to Vickers in 1971, a British engineering conglomerate, then in 1998, Vickers sold Rolls-Royce to VW. 

But because of the intellectual property still belongs to the Rolls-Royce aerospace company (which did recovered under nationalisation and eventually privatised) the sale to VW did not include these two trademarks. Therefore the sale included the Bentley name and logos, vehicle designs, model nameplates, production and administrative facilities.
